Creating Your Account

Getting started with BookNest is quick and easy. Follow these steps to create your account and begin your reading journey.

Sign Up Process

Step 1: Navigate to Sign Up

  1. Visit the BookNest homepage
  2. Click the “Sign Up” button in the top navigation
  3. You’ll be redirected to the registration page

Step 2: Choose Sign Up Method

You can create your account using:

  • Email Address - Traditional email and password
  • Google Account - Quick sign-up with your Google account

Step 3: Complete Your Profile

After signing up, you’ll be asked to:

  1. Choose a username (this will be visible to other users)
  2. Add a profile picture (optional)
  3. Write a short bio (optional)
  4. Set your reading preferences

Email Verification

If you signed up with email:

  1. Check your inbox for a verification email
  2. Click the verification link
  3. You’ll be redirected back to BookNest
  4. Your account is now active!

Didn’t receive the email?

  • Check your spam folder
  • Make sure you entered the correct email address
  • Request a new verification email from your profile settings

Profile Setup

Adding a Profile Picture

  1. Go to your profile settings
  2. Click “Edit Profile”
  3. Upload an image (JPEG, PNG, or GIF)
  4. Crop to your liking
  5. Save changes

Writing Your Bio

Share a bit about yourself:

  • Your favorite genres
  • What you’re currently reading
  • Your reading goals
  • Fun facts about your reading habits

Privacy Settings

Control what others can see:

  • Public Profile - Anyone can view your profile and reading activity
  • Private Profile - Only you can see your reading data
  • Friends Only - Only users you follow can see your activity
